Please Do This

This piece takes its title from a line in a love letter my grandfather wrote to my grandmother while stationed overseas. Much of their correspondence focused on ordinary details—what to send, how to manage daily life—revealing how love lives inside the practical and unspectacular moments. They were very young, and that simplicity carries through the work.

For the collector, this piece offers a sense of calm and presence. Its layered surfaces and subtle movement invite a slower way of looking, creating space to reflect on connection, memory, and the quiet endurance of care over time.

The mixed media floral abstract is created on a 30 x 40 x 1.5 inch canvas using magazine clippings, painted papers, ink, pastel, acrylic, and watercolor. The sides are collaged, and a satin varnish adds a soft, light-reflective finish.

The intention was to create the feeling of flowers moving gently in the breeze—unforced, natural, and steady.
