Munich 1950

$525.00

Oranges and blues are featured in this 16 × 16 x 1.5 inch mixed media on canvas. Made with magazine clippings, pieces from my grandparents’s love letters, acrylic, pastel, and watercolor.

The sides are painted a pale blue.

Pairs well with ““My Dearest Darling.”

I started with the color palette, and then improvised the composition, adding in pieces of my grandaddy’s letters to my grandmother in the 1940s. He was a pilot stationed in Munich during WW2. Since he passed when I was a toddler, I’ve gotten to know him through these letters which only came to me recently. So each of these pieces is infused with their love story.
