“Saturday Afternoon”
This abstract mixed media collage in pinks and greens is on a 36 x 36 inch canvas. Wired and ready to hang.
The title comes from a piece of a letter from my Grandaddy to my Grandmother that reads:
“Sat. Afternoon—- June 24th
Munich, Germany”
The year is probably the mid-1940s. He spent a lot of time in Germany during and just after the war, and many letters were sent from there. This one, like so many others, was filled with love longing, and apologies for being what he thought was very little help while she was in the U.S. raising their two little children.
